Bridge for the passage of equipment around the furnace
The NAVIC team was responsible for the project in all phases – from concept to executive design.
The aim of the project was to find and develop a solution that would allow the wagons to run freely to the furnace’s trigger meshes, taking into account the rail system for the devices that operate the trigger meshes.
The rail system for the devices serving the triggering meshes is located at the level of + 1790mm in relation to the track for the tolley.
This forced the design of two openable track sections operating on the drawbridge principle. The drawbridge is open during normal operation and is closed when the devices supporting the triggering meshes pass.
Geared motors with planetary gearboxes were used to lift the bridge spans.
Within the scope of work NAVIC did:
1) Concept of solution
2) Layout of tracks
3) Steel structure of the drawbridge and support for the geared motor system including foundation
4) Selection of the drawbridge drive system
