Battery scrap processing plant
The design task assigned to the NAVIC team was part of the investment consisting in the construction of the Research and Development Centre for Modelling and Optimisation of Non-Ferrous Metals Technological Processes. The scope of our works included the whole stage III of the investment consisting in designing a complete Battery Scrap Processing Plant.
The objects designed by us required taking into account the requirements set by the Italian supplier of scrap processing technology, i.e. SERI company, as well as the requirements resulting from environmental protection, especially in terms of selection of chemically resistant protections. Due to the location of the investment, while designing the buildings it was also necessary to take into account the impact of mining exploitation.
Within the work we designed:
– Battery scrap storage hall with a battery scrap tank containing electrolyte,
– Battery scrap processing hall with foundations for technological equipment,
– Electrolyte tanks with drip pan and electrolyte discharge system,
– Material boxes,
– The social – laboratory building and the gateway building.
In addition, the design work included the plant’s power supply and lighting system, heating and ventilation system and management of clean and polluted rainwater. As part of the land development, a system of roads and squares was designed with a division into a dirty and clean part (separated by a car wheel washing system), a system of scales and an entry into the plant.
Battery scrap processing capacity: 100.000 t/year
The area of squares, roads: 17.700 m2
The area of buildings: 6.160 m2
