Drop Object Protection (DOP) system design on Rowan Gorilla VI
The NAVIC team was responsible for the project in all phases of the project – from concept to detailed design, production and supervision during installation on the Rowan Gorilla VI platform.
The aim of the project was to find and develop a solution for the Drop Object Protection (DOP) system that will protect the EKOA production platform during P&A (Plug and Abandonment) work.
For this purpose, a synthetic mesh protection system was designed and developed.
Within the scope of NAVIC’s work, it was performed:
1) Grid under the Cantilever together with the fastening system.
2) Adjustable air curtain around the BOP (Blow Out Preventer) together with a retractable system to adjust the curtain according to the BOP position.
